Flame of Remembrance

The project was a partnership between the Returned Services League, Hobart City Council, Department of Premier and Cabinet and landscape architect and artist Julie Stoneman. The reflection pool heightens the sense of eternity through its mirroring of the sky. Fire and water is juxtaposed as the water flows into a central well from which the flame emerges. The setting encourages contemplation of the flame and its symbolism of eternal life.
